Your four sessions to get started in entrepreneurship
Do you have a business idea in mind – or do you want to find out whether an idea can really turn into something viable? In the Business Plan School, you will work in an interdisciplinary team over four sessions during the semester to develop your own concept and turn it into a pitch deck, which you will present to a jury at the end of the course. Hands-on, focused, and with clear feedback loops.
The course concludes with a pitch competition. The winning team will also have the opportunity to present its pitch at the following Gründertreff start-up networking event and connect with founders as well as other stakeholders from the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Depending on the format, more than one team may be invited to present.
Schedule
Kick-off & Team Matching
21 October 2026, 4:15–8:15 p.m.
Get to know each other, form teams, and get started. You can bring your own ideas, select one idea as a team, and lay the foundations for your project: problem, target group, value proposition, competition, and initial assumptions about the market and feasibility. The aim is for your team to be ready to start working on the concept immediately after the first session.
Business Model & Storyline
28 October 2026, 4:15–8:15 p.m.
From the core idea to a viable concept: business model, market and competition, initial financial figures, and the structure of your pitch deck. You will work directly on your own project, receive continuous feedback, and enter the next working phase with a clear structure.
Interim Presentation & Deep Dive
18 November 2026, 4:15–8:15 p.m.
All teams present their current progress. Then it is time to dig deeper: intensive challenging of your concept, concrete suggestions for improvement, refinement of your storyline, and a trial run for the competition. Afterwards, you will know exactly what still needs to be done before the final pitch.
Team Working Phase
Between the sessions, particularly between 18 November 2026 and 13 January 2027
You will continue working independently, meet in person as a team at least once, and document your collaboration. You will iteratively develop your concept and pitch deck so that the in-person sessions can be used to refine your work rather than starting from scratch.
Final Presentation & Pitch Competition
13 January 2027, 4:15–8:15 p.m.
Final pitches by all teams in front of a jury, followed by a Q&A and the selection of the winning teams. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams. Afterwards, the winning team will take part in a focused feedback session to further improve its presentation in preparation for the pitch at the Gründertreff.
Assessment
The final pitch deck serves as the assessed course achievement (3 CP). Assessment is based on the clarity, plausibility and feasibility of the concept as well as the quality of the presentation.
Who is it for?
Students from all disciplines who want to develop an entrepreneurial mindset – whether you are already considering starting a business or simply want to explore, in a hands-on setting, how ideas can be turned into viable concepts.
No prior knowledge is required. What matters is your willingness to work as part of a team and to take feedback seriously.
Why should you join?
You will gain an intensive and structured learning experience that helps you make significant progress in a short period of time: from the initial idea to a presentation-ready pitch deck.
You will work as part of a team, receive feedback at several stages, and experience first-hand how an idea can improve through iteration. And there is a real opportunity for your project to become more than just the outcome of a university course.
