Who is the program for?

For students at Saarland University who want to think entrepreneurially and systematically expand their skills for a complex and dynamic world.

For anyone who aims to start a business, take on responsibility within organizations, or build a strong additional profile with an official university certificate.

Advanced Entrepreneurship is designed for students who don’t just find ideas exciting, but want to understand how to develop them, structure their implementation, and think them through entrepreneurially. It combines start-up knowledge, leadership skills, and future competencies into a profile that goes far beyond a single field of study.

Program structure

The Advanced Entrepreneurship Certificate comprises 24 CP and is divided into three areas:

Foundation Module (6 CP)

Build the basis for entrepreneurial thinking and action. Depending on the course, topics include business ideas, team building, business planning, or strategic decision-making under time pressure. If you complete more than 6 CP in this area, additional credits can be counted toward the elective module.

Mandatory Module (12 CP)

Deepen your knowledge of essential business and entrepreneurial fundamentals, as well as the academic foundations of innovation strategies, methods, and leadership.
“Business Administration Compact Knowledge for Founders I & II” can alternatively be replaced by a completed degree in business administration.

Elective Module (6 CP)

Specialize according to your interests: whether you prefer creative work, are passionate about technology, or want to focus on market strategies – you design your own profile.
You will develop key future skills, including idea generation, teamwork, prototyping, innovation marketing, and business simulation.

You will receive certificates of achievement for successfully completed courses. Upon completing the full program, an official certificate will be issued.

Additional Information

  • Early registration recommended: To ensure we can provide you with the best possible guidance, support your progress, and track your certificate journey accurately, we recommend registering early and submitting your course certificates promptly after completion.
  • Practical and community engagement: To successfully complete the certificate, participation in entrepreneurial practice and community formats is required. This includes at least two events such as founder meetups, hackathons, or other formats within the Triathlon ecosystem.
  • Transition regulation for the previous Entrepreneurship Certificate: If you have already completed courses from the previous Entrepreneurship Certificate, you may choose either to complete the existing certificate or switch to the new Advanced Entrepreneurship Certificate. This requires prior registration for the former certificate with the Chair of Technology and Innovation Management.
